Grand Arts 2017/2018 Season

Noises Off | November 1st - 5th, 2017

Called “the funniest farce ever written,” Noises Off presents a manic menagerie of itinerant actors rehearsing a flop called Nothing’s On. Doors slamming, on and offstage intrigue, and an errant herring all figure in the plot of this hilarious and classically comic play.

Student-directed plays | November 29th - december 1st, 2017

Back by popular demand, the Student-Directed Plays are works that have been fully realized by students for students. Year after year, these fully student-run events are always sure to sell out.

The Father directed by Gabrielle Belloir & Club Mojito directed by Lara Aguirre-Medina

The glass menagerie | March 8th - 10th, 2018

The Glass Menagerie is the play that launched Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tennessee Williams’ career and is among the masterworks of the American stage. Drawn from Williams’ life, this moving play explores the illusory nature of dreams and the fragility of hope.

once on this island | April 27th - 29th, 2018

From the Tony Award winning songwriting team, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, comes a story inspired from the by Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid. With a Caribbean tinged score, follow the story of Ti Moune as she goes on her quest to prove that love is stronger than death. Once on this Island is a fairy tale celebration of love, hope, life and death.

Student-Directed Plays(s) Proposals

We hope you are enjoying your summer break and are working hard on choosing a script to propose!

We will be holding the Proposal Presentations on August 17th right after school; you can sign up on the first day of school.  OR, you are also welcome to respond to this email confirming that you plan to present a show; this will guarantee you a proposal spot and I will begin the sign up list with confirmations to this email first.

There are wonderful one act plays and many playwrights have already re-written their plays into a one act.  You are also welcome to try cutting a full-length play down to the required time limit but please note that we still expect a clear beginning, middle, and end and that these will be prioritized under those submitting an already set one act play.
